Green Real Estate Education who has lead the effort for green building education and certification in the real estate sectors has reached a milestone of 6,000 and growing. The company model does not stop at green building education for just the Realtor® but extends offerings to mortgage and inspection professionals. Kerry Mitchell, President of Green Real Estate Education says, “As a seasoned real estate professional, I could not scale my knowledge of green building basics and educates homeowners if the other professionals do not understand the concepts as well.” Mitchell’s company travels to teach and has their courses on line so the courses are accessible to the professions. The company philosophy is to not offer the course for over $100 and to educate in levels.

“Green Building education for those who will represent the built structure on a sale or lease is a new arena for many but for us it is second nature.” Mitchell says. “We started over 2 years ago and lead the effort and do not over charge.” New programs that are coming to market charge over $200 and more. The National Association of Realtors® in some cities charge as much as $450 for 3 day program and as Mitchell states, “ The industry needs this education and this is not fair to their pocketbooks right now and quite frankly I am surprised.”

Green Real Estate Education is opening up new ways to market their courses partnering with developers and non profits to spread the word on the importance of saving energy through energy efficiency for home owners to implement into their lifestyles.
